Singapore's speedy LTE hits 70Mbps

If you've just moved Down Under because of CNET Australia's recent LTE speed test article, in which it was claimed that Australia has faster download speeds, you may want to reconsider moving again.
While our colleague Joseph Hanlon in Australia managed to get a top download speed of 61.74Mbps in Sydney--which easily beats the speeds of San Francisco and New York--our tests in Singapore broke that record by 10Mbps.
Tests done on the HTC One XL consistently broke the 60Mbps mark while we were at Ang Mo Kio MRT station. Perhaps a base station was located nearby, but the result was impressive, nonetheless.
Stay tuned for our follow up article where we will be exploring the speeds of the iPhone 5, which only has access to the 1,800MHz band, and find out whether the HTC One XL, which has access to the 2,600MHz band, could lead to a better experience for you.
