Amazon’s massive EC2 cloud service crashed Monday, taking down a number of well-known brand-name services like Reddit, Instagram and Foursquare.

Scores of popular sites who rely on the company's hosting services suffered, including Flipboard, GitHub, Heroku, GameFAQs, Imjur, Turntable, Coursera and MongoLab, Business Insider reported.
The crash may have stemmed from problems with the company's data centers in Northern Virginia, according to ZDNet.
This is the third time this year Amazon has experienced problems with its cloud hosting service.
A massive outage struck the company in June, taking down Netflix, Instagram, Pinterest, Foursquare and Dropbox.
Another collapse occurred the following month, after severe weather hit the North Virginia data center.
